This week our class was conducted via Jitsi as well. Attendance was compulsory for all the executive members but all the other members were also encouraged to join. Dr. Azah talked about how are we going to carry out the peer evaluation assessment during the virtual meeting. Below are the summary of the meeting:
For Peer Evaluation,
Team A
- Every member of each small has to fill up the form
- The Leader of the small groups will do final presentation which is due on Week 13
Team B
- You guys will have to form smaller groups just like Team A, 4 person per group
- Every member of the smaller group fill up peer evaluation
- The leader will present for final presentation

👩🏼🏫 Dr Azah was discussing about the peer evaluation.⤴️

For the group without access to kids, there are a total of four in each sub-group. They have to fill up the google form and evaluate their 3 other peers from the same small group. They will give their group members marks ranging from 2-10, depending on their effort and cooperation made towards the project. For Team B, I join my friends' group which have 4 of us, Teo Richie (Group leader), Ong Heng Kiat, Kng Yin Chew and me. Our team will function as a smaller evaluations and reflection group. This small group we will use to reflect on our activities with kids. I will definitely give my groupmates a 10/10 marks because I saw their videos, eveyone of them are doing great to make the project successfully. They are willing to help and contribute to our group project. We also discuss and prepare how and what our team shall present in the final presentation day on the 18 June from 9 to 11am.
My group leader wants to do the presentation in SWOT-I format, which is stands for:
S - Strengths
W - Weaknesses
O - Opportunities
T - Threats
I - Improvements
Below are the SWOT-I from me:
Strength:
From kids -
1) Learning new things in a fun way during MCO
2) Quizizz is a good platform for kids to learn because have a lot of gifs and picture
From me -
1) Increase the relationship between me and the kids throughout these learning sessions
2) I become more experience in communicating with kids and understands their mind.
Weaknesses:
From kids -
1) She is too shy in front of the camera
2) She cannot understand the video well because she is not good in English, thus I explain to her in Mandarin
3) Some of the module is too difficult for her (eg. Logic gate) because even though I explain to her, she also cannot understand.
From me:
1) Sometimes it is difficult for me to explain the module or meaning in a simpler way to her.
2) The pre-test and post-test question is too difficult for the kids to answer.
3) Recording and producing video take a long time since all the process had to carry out by myself.
Opportunities:
1) She gets the draft idea of what is programming and what is computer.
2) She gets the opportunities to learn about computer science stuff since in their textbooks doesn’t have this kind of knowledge
Threats:
1) Disturbance from family members
2) Phone battery and computer battery drain very fast during the recording process and watching tutorial videos session.
3) She does not have the patients to carry out the activities in a long time because she feeled tired. Thus, we had to pause a while and take some rest.
Improvements:
1) Prepare a power bank to charge the phone and bring laptop charger or make sure all device is full battery before carried out the activities
2) Communicate with kids in a language that they can understand more better.
3) Conduct the tutorial session in a quite environment which does not disturbed by external factors
4) Prepare more interesting material/toys/pictures can that make the kids understand more better
